Home-work
August 11, 2008Having spent so much time at home over the holidays, my attention has fully shifted from pastoral-work to home-work. Truly – ‘leading’ in the context of the home as husband and father is a labor as well as a joy. Setting the spiritual tone at home demands our best efforts and for it we should draw upon the best resources.
Below you’ll find a list of talks on the homefront that I’ve either listened to already or am hoping to give my attention to soon. If you have any other recommendations, please let me know.

Dude, the Alistair Begg link doesn’t seem to work and I can’t find any of his talks on the CBMW site? (they definitely used to have some of his talks…)
For our care group’s men’s meetings we are going through What’s the Difference by Piper (available free at DGM). Our focus is on the Meaning of Masculinity (c 2) and specifically there is a section under TO LEAD which I have asked each of us to evaluate ourselves and engage our wives to also evaluate us on the 9 areas he addresses. I’d add one more sermon to your list that was deeply moving & convicting to me, preached by Al Martin of Trinity Baptist Church in Montville, NJ. It’s titled, “Effective Fatherhood”.
