Welcome… Little Brother Bridges
April 26, 2008A heartfelt congratulations to Tim Bridges (my co-leader on The Preaching Course) and his wife Krisy on the birth of their second child last Thursday. Welcome to the world: Greyson Alan Bridges. Who knows Tim, perhaps another preacher in the making?
This weekend I’m reminded of the wonderful gift of my three own lovely children. None of us deserve children; they are a gracious and blessed gift from God. “Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” (Psalm 127:4-5)

Good looking kids Colin. I have two young boys (4 & 2) and will be joining your fraternity with #3 this summer (yikes!). Thanks for reminding us that we certainly do not deserve them, that they are given to us by God. AMEN to that! 🙂

Thanks, brother. We are feeling particularly blessed today! Regarding the ‘future preacher’ question, he certainly has the lung capacity:)
It is already hard to imagine what we did without him.

That’s scary how close in age our respective children will be! Its also amazing these days, isn’t it, that we now have the technology to be able to know the gender of the baby and even name it months before (I was looking at your blog).

Lung capacity has a lot to be said for it (ask Spurgeon etc)…especially if the church you’re in doesn’t have a great sound system – a must 😉
