Preaching At The Death Bed
September 27, 2011We need to learn to preach at bedsides, not just behind pulpits. That’s why I found Kevin De Young’s article “Some Thoughts On Ministering to the Sick and Dying” of such great benefit when I read it this morning. It covers the practicalities of making the hardest visit of all. He even suggests Scriptural texts which are pertinent to different situations.
Read the entire thing.
As I read Kevin DeYoung’s blog on ministering to the sick and dying, I could not help but see these simple 10 suggestions as useful (nay, pertinent) to how we communicate with each and every brother and sister in Christ! Whether they are sick, dying, new believers, mature believers, wayward or passionate siblings in Christ – we need to be asking these questions and having these conversations long before someone is on their final deathbed. As for me: I am convicted and exhorted…may Christ increase in the Church’s conversation today!
