Ordination

May 21, 2007

There were tears. There were solemn vows. There were precious words from Scripture. My ordination service yesterday was an occasion I will never forget.

Do you believe in One God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and do you confess anew Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord?

Answer: I do.

Do you believe in your heart that you are truly called of God to pastor his people and to teach his Word?

Answer: I do.

Do you promise to execute your calling with all fidelity, and to be faithful in prayer, in the reading and study of the Scriptures and to lead a life worthy of the ministry to which you have been called?

Answer: I promise so to do, the Lord being my helper.

  1. I was thinking of and praying for you yesterday. It’s hard to believe it’s 25 years this July since I was ordained. What an awesome privilege and responsibility. God bless and keep you. Thanks for the great series on 2 Timothy 2

  2. Congratulations and blessings.

  3. It really was a powerful moment. I pray the Lord continues to bless you in the ministry.

  4. It was a privilege to have a small part in yesterday’s service. I will not forget it. It is powerful when the solemnity of the occasion is visible to all. Perhaps we need more tears to remind us all of our calling, ordained or not.

  5. Congratulations! Ordination and the taking of pastoral vows for ministry is truly an awe-filled event.

  6. I am happy for you. May God grant you a rich anointing and much fruit and much joy in His service.
